I had the privilege of seeing you speak at the CARD Conference in Florida. Excellent session, by the way. It just wasn't long enough! Anyway, I wanted to thank you for a great presentation. As a parent of an 11 year old girl with HFA, here is my frustration: I go to many conferences and trainings to try to figure out how to help my child and I learn lots, BUT I need her teachers, etc., to be going to these workshops as well. It is hard for me as a parent to help my child--she doesn't want to listen to me or hear things from me. And I can't reteach those who do work with her everything that I learn. What I wish I had was someone like you locally! Is there like a directory of counselors/psychologists who specialize in social cognitive thinking? How can I find out if there is someone trained in my area to do what you do? This is exactly what my daughter needs. Thanks again for your wonderful presentation and for the work that you do.
