Since 2009 based off a need Dr. Abildgaard recognized early in his career when working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) the SLC set out to create a setting that supports and understands individuals with various types of neurodiverse learning profiles and create supports and interventions to help them better adapt to their world and the context in which they live. The SLC is fortunate to have a reputation of meeting the client where he/she/they are and addressing the root cause of their current struggles. Through impacting lives through direct intervention, school-based consultation and now teaching at the University level, the staff of the SLC is making a positive impact on our community.
Our amazing staff has grown over the years to meet the growing need of our community’s mental health and educational needs.
The SLC is a community group well established in Cheshire, CT for over 15 years impacting our local community and those across the state of Connecticut.
We have had the privilege of supporting with over a thousand children and families over the years, with the number continuing to grow.
